Along with our kids, Nunz and I started Four Mile River Farm in 1985. We both had careers; Nunz, a teacher, me, a nurse. As a young boy, Nunz showed registered Jersey cattle with a well-respected breeding Jersey farm and was immediately hooked! He fell hard for farming. He acquired a high standard of care for animals and his love for cattle and farming was contagious to the rest of us.
With farming becoming more and more industrialized, our goal is to lessen the disconnect from agriculture, from high-quality animal husbandry, from hard work, and from just plain getting dirty. Our kids grew up with chores, 4H, animals, and lots of dirt. Now adults with kids of their own, while they've outgrown 4H, they haven't outgrown chores, animals, or dirt! They work with us to help keep family farming alive and well.
For so many of us, FOOD EQUALS FAMILY. Family dinners, family holidays, family traditions. Our goal is simple: for our family to produce high-quality products for your family. Call us, email us or visit us. Get to know us, know your food, know your farmers.
